I wanted post something I did about sleeping. All the talk about prescription drugs and all the drugs available to help a person sleep, one can get very overwhelmed on what to do.
FIRST OF ALL, DON'T TAKE A DRUG!
Change the way you eat, I use to, at least three to four times a week, take over an hour to get to sleep, and wake up about two to three hours later and be awake for another hour or so before trying to go back to sleep. That SUCKED!
After eating mostly raw and organic, jumping on the rebounder, etc... I really do not have the problem. I did, however, about a month ago, taking a long time to go to sleep and was wondering what I was doing wrong. I figured out I wasn't jumping like I should and not eating my greens as much, also, in my opinion, it was this RAW Power protein shake I was taking, also....
I AM SOLD. I take Peppermint Oil put a VERY little on my finger and run my finger up and down my pillow, then lay down and breath in the "fumes" in most of the night. I seem to fall right asleep and sleep deep. Tiffany even started it and she loves it now too, so maybe it will help you? Cool thing about essential oils, and oils like peppermint or spearmint, they are cool to "try" and won't hurt you. (Consult an herbalist if you are taking prescription meds, I ain't no specialist)

Tiffany and I are not against meat all together. We are not 100 percent vegan, close but not 100 percent. We do believe in some meat, very, very sparingly. We eat meat, mostly deer, about 1 to 3 times a month.
I personally do not like Chicken and Eggs, but I do love Turkey and we will have Turkey on Thanksgiving, Easter, etc... I think for Christmas we are having BBQ Deer Ribs on the grill....
Tiffany and the kids seem to eat eggs about every week at some point. So anyway, we are not like, no meat at all, just 1 or 2 times month generally...
"True temperance reform must go hand in hand with diet reform. A simple and frugal diet combined with regular exercise in the open air will gradually purify the system from waste poisons and, to a large degree, lessen the craving for alcoholic beverages and gradually do away with the desire for them altogether." - Otto Carque (The Key To Rational Dietetics)
"On the whole, the habit of eating more meat leads to greater consumption of alcohol, and vice versa. Where much fruit is eaten, there is scarcely any desire for alcoholic drinks." - Dr. David Katz (University Of Manchester)
"It is therefore of great importance for athletes and for those who are subjected to muscular strain, to maintain a high degree of alkalinity of the blood by avoiding as much as possible, highly acid-forming foods such as meat, eggs, legumes, breads, fried foods etc., and by consuming an adequate supply of fruits and green-leaf vegetables. When proper attention is paid to diet, fatigue is retarded, while endurance is increased. The Japanese, Chinese and some of the Hindu tribes living in the Himalaya mountains, who subsist on frugal diet and hardly eat any meat, possess most remarkable physical stamina. These facts are worthy of careful attention, not only by athletes, but by all who want to derive much benefit from their regular exercise." (from Vital Facts About Foods" by Otto Carque p. 22.)
